What a beautiful weekend

I’m sitting here on a somewhat chiller Monday, with my partner back at work and Oscar has started his two weeks of half term for Easter, both of the kids are slightly ill too just to add to the Monday morning blues, but we had an amazing weekend.

We decided to go to Earnley Butterflies, Birds and Beasts near West Wittering, on Saturday, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I had never heard of it and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it advertised but as we were driving to the beach we saw a sign for it so thought we would give it a go instead of queuing for about three hours to get to the beach. Oscar had the best time, Luna got excited every time she saw a bird or butterfly move, and we had no tantrums at all. I thoroughly recommend a visit there, maybe not when its scorching hot as its mainly undercover in what can only be described as a giant greenhouse but perfect for cooler and rainy days. We then came home with both the kids sleeping all the way home and we had our first BBQ of the year, probably along with everyone else in the U.K.

On Sunday we were going to have a quiet day but again the weather as lovely and it was hotter. I remember when I was about 10 my dad took me to a place called Beale Park near Reading, and I couldn’t remember much about it so I researched it and decided to go there. I think it has changed a massive amount since I went there, but again I thoroughly recommend it. It’s quite expensive to get in but worth every penny. Oscar loved the train ride, and seeing all the animals and we had a splash in the paddling pool- the water was FREEZING, Luna didn’t approve, actually she was in a grumpy mood most of the day- the joys of teething.

His face on the train says it all.

So I thought I would share how amazing my weekend has been because usually my blogs are moaning about something. I am slowly getting into my happy place again now that I’m not being bad mouthed by my mother and after all the rubbish that has happened during the week. Making memories with my children and my partner district me from my depression and anxiety and make everything a thousand times better. I know people say this a lot but I honesty don’t where I’d be without them, especially my partner. This weekend has made me realise that I don’t need all the anger and the hatred in my life, I need to focus on making fun times for my children. I hope everyone else had a fabulous weekend and managed to enjoy the weather.
